We Burn Gas from Your Poop to Make Electricity

Our Co-Gen power plant makes electricity for the wastewater plant. These engines burn methane gas. Bacteria in the poop made the gas.

These engines work a lot like a car engine. A car burns gasoline, but these engines burn methane gas. A car engine spins the car wheels, but these engines spin magnets and copper wires. That is what makes the electricity.

Burning methane gas is good for Albuquerque. Methane gas comes from your poop, so it is free. Methane gas is a renewable resource. We won’t run out of it. And methane gas burns cleaner than coal.
