Protecting Rio Grande Fish

The adjustable-height dam across the Rio Grande near the Alameda Bridge includes a fish passage on the east side of river. This allows free movement of fish upstream and downstream when the dam is raised. The project also includes fish screens along the intake structure to prevent fish from getting entrained into the structure and the Raw Water Pump Station.
